RCC Bridge on D.I Khan Darya Khan Road
As existing bridge is in-sufficient to accommodate the traffic congestion coupled with interruption in operation during flood situation, Pakhtunkhwa Highways Authority has put in effort to initiate and prioritize the construction of a new RCC bridge.
The project is envisaged to provide major tangible and intangible benefits which include:
- Uninterrupted flow of traffic between KPK and Punjab
- Savings in Vehicle Operating Costs and Travel Time.
- Significant relief to Provincial Highway traffic, presently suffering due to the only existing structure on the Indus River.
- It will bring more population of both the provinces into the stream of benefits, which in turn will change the social complexion of people using this project road and bridge.
- Apart from the usual benefits of saving in time, this link will transform the entire pattern of transportation in the surrounding areas resulting in uplift of economic condition of local community.
- Economy of the adjoining area will be developed.
