Islamabad Expressway
Islamabad Expressway had been upgraded to a 10-lane facility in the year 2008. However, at the grade intersections – entries and exits at critical five (05) locations caused frequent disruptions to traffic flow. To eliminate these bottlenecks five (05) interchanges were conceived for construction. These include, Kuri interchange, Khanna interchange, Karal (Airport) interchange, Japan interchange and GT road interchange. All interchanges represent a peculiar design so to cater to the prevailing traffic conflicts.
