Haripur city is the main center of the surrounding rural population within the Haripur district. The city holds the larger population of the district along its orbit. The National highway N35 (Karakorum Highway) traverses across the main city center which has created a grid lock situation within the city. Therefore, it was prudent to divert the traffic around the city center while providing access to the rural villages and townships directly to the national highways and the proposed motorway system. The Total sectional length is approximately 23 Km. The bypass road links the major areas of Haripur District like Khalabat Township, Kangra colony, Sirya and Sarai Saleh etc. with N-35, N-125 and E35.
