THE PROJECT

The proposed road project is a key trade corridor linking Pakistan to Afghanistan, starting from Thall and ending at Parachinar over a length of 82 km. The existing single carriageway with limited ROW will be upgraded to a 7.3 m wide carriageway with 2 m treated shoulders on both sides. Flexible pavement will be used throughout the route, with rigid pavement in gradient and urban areas for durability. The road is designed for a speed of 80 km/h and includes 338 culverts and 29 bridges to ensure proper drainage and connectivity. This project aims to improve trade, regional connectivity, and traffic safety.
